NIYO JEWELLÉ · BIS HALLMARK GUIDE
Know Your Hallmark
A BIS hallmark is independent proof of what your silver is made of. Here is how to read the marks on your Niyo Jewellé piece and check them yourself in under a minute.
Every piece carries its own HUID

What the marks mean
A BIS hallmark on silver jewellery has three parts.
BIS Standard Mark
The Bureau of Indian Standards logo. It shows the piece was tested and hallmarked at a BIS-recognised Assaying & Hallmarking Centre, not just stamped by the jeweller.
Purity grade
Silver content in parts per thousand. Sterling silver is marked 925, meaning 92.5% pure silver. The rest is usually copper, added for strength.
Hallmark Unique ID
A six-character alphanumeric code given to each individual piece. No two pieces share one, so you can look it up yourself.
Check it yourself
How to verify a HUID
You only need the code on your piece and a phone.
-
Find the hallmark
Look inside the band of a ring, near the clasp or on the tag of a chain or bracelet, or on the post of an earring. The marks are laser-engraved and tiny, so use a magnifying glass or your phone camera’s zoom.
-
Get the BIS CARE app
Install the free, official BIS CARE app by the Bureau of Indian Standards from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
-
Verify the HUID
Open the app, choose Verify HUID and enter the six-character code exactly as it is engraved.
-
Match the details
The app shows what was recorded at hallmarking, such as the type of article, its purity and the hallmarking centre. These should match your piece.
Our promise
Every Niyo Jewellé piece is hallmarked
Every Niyo Jewellé silver piece carries a BIS hallmark with its own HUID, so you can confirm its purity yourself today, and years from now when you trade it in through The Silver Circle.
A plain “925” stamp without the BIS mark and a HUID is only the seller’s own claim. It has not been independently tested.
